“The Othello Project”

Visionbox, a new professional actors’ studio and multimedia production company in Denver, will premiere The Othello Project, Phase II, an original low-friction adaptation of Othello, opening May 31st. The production is conceived, adapted and directed by Jennifer McCray Rincon, Executive Artistic Director of Visionbox, and combines Shakespeare’s text and characters with contemporary scenes of domestic violence. Following every performance there will be a talk back with members of the Crime Victims Advisory Council, a unit of the Victim Services Network, part of the Denver District Attorneys Office, other domestic violence advocacy groups, and the cast and the creators of the project.
