Indie Lens Pop-Up Screening: NATIONAL BIRD

Join the Yale Film Study Center and CPTV for a special advance screening of NATIONAL BIRD, a new documentary by Sonia Kennebeck, followed by a community discussion. NATIONAL BIRD follows whistleblowers who risk serious consequences to break the silence around one of the most controversial issues of our time: the U.S. drone war in Afghanistan. The film gives rare insights from survivors as well as veterans who suffer from PTSD while plagued by guilt over participating in the killings by drone. Errol Morris and Wim Wenders served as Executive Producers for this documentary, which Filmmaker Magazine called “provocative, thoughtful, and cinematically ambitious.”

Featuring upcoming documentaries from the Peabody Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens, Indie Lens Pop-Up brings people together for film screenings and community-driven conversations. Indie Lens Pop-up is presented in Connecticut by the Yale Film Study Center, CPTV, ITVS, and Independent Lens/PBS.
