Shakespeare in Brief – Hamlet

Shakespeare in Brief is a series of talks and performances designed to integrate Shakespeare scholarship and staging. Each event lasts 45 minutes or less and consists of a talk on a piece in the Beinecke’s “Remembering Shakespeare” exhibition followed a performance by undergraduate actors. These performances will take place next to the closest documents we have to original manuscripts. Words made breath. Coffee to follow.

The “Hamlet” event will include a staging of Act III, scene iv. (Closet scene), a preview of the upcoming production directed by Professor Deb Margolin and featuring Justin Dobies ’12 as Hamlet, Katharine Pitt ’12 as Gertrude, Mike Rose ’13 as Polonius and Jesse Kirkland ’12 as the Ghost.
