Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

Join us as we take a classical journey and turn it on its head, exploring a whole new dimension of Yale theater through a theatrical experience that is not to be missed.

At its heart, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is a story with great momentum; the struggle with separation and reunification — and a love constantly tested by physical distance and overwhelming obstacles — are themes even more resonant through a physical, as well as theatrical, journey. Instead of taking place in one of our typical venues, this R&J will wander Yale’s campus, using the architecture of Hillhouse Avenue as our scenery, and we will bring the audience along as we roam from place to place on the Montague/Capulet journey.

Please note: this show includes approximately half a mile of walking over two and a half hours, and will take place outside without consistent seating. Please dress appropriately. If this will provide difficulty for you, please reach out to william.viederman@yale.edu and aviva.abusch@yale.edu, and we will make accommodations as necessary.
