Abyss, a new dynamic show created by Independents (“Best Overall Production,” FringeNYC 2012) composer Stephen Feigenbaum and director Charlie Polinger, tells the story of the apocalypse through edgy classical music and theatrical spectacle. The production centers on an ensemble of musicians, dancers, and actors who weave the story of Abyss, written by playwright Matthew George, with film, animation, and choreography. Set against the backdrop of Feigenbaum’s sweeping compositions, the show presents a multimedia spectacle that reinvigorates classical music for the modern-day listener.
The show will run March 28–31 at 278 Park Street, an empty storefront in downtown New Haven that has been transformed for the performance. Tickets are free and available on a first come, first served basis.
