Nontsikelelo Mutiti: A NEW WORK/A NOW WORK/A NON WORK
As a part of Africa Week, the Yale African Students Association presents an art showing by Nontsikelelo Mutiti entitled A
NEW WORK/A
NOW WORK/A
NON WORK. Nontsikelelo Mutiti is a Zimbabwean-born artist, graphic designer and researcher and educator working across disciplines to produce work that is light-based, physical, digital, audio visual and textual. She received a diploma in Multimedia from the Zimbabwe Institute of Digital Arts (2007) and an
MFA with a concentration in Graphic Design from Yale School of Art (2012). This year she was a recipient of the Alice Kimball English Traveling Fellowship as well as a fellow of the Create Change Program with the Laundromat Project in New York City.
Recent exhibitions of her work include T(H)
READ a solo installation at Edwin Gallery in Hamtramck, Michigan curated by Chido Johnson, as well as a contribution to Remitting Default: Sonic Diagrams for Recess Activities curated by Kenya Robinson."
The event will be on Friday 2nd November at 4 pm in the Davenport Art Gallery 248 York Street, Davenport College. Desserts and other light refreshments will be served!
