LaToya Ruby Frazier
Ms. Frazier received a B.F.A. in applied media arts from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and an M.F.A. in Art Photography from the College of Visual Performing Arts at Syracuse University in 2007. She completed the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program in 2011. Her work has been shown in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions including, the Whitney Museum of American Art: 2012 Biennial, the 2011 Incheon Women Artist’s Biennale, the 2011 Andy Warhol Museum Pittsburgh Biennial, the 2010 P.S.1 MoMA Greater New Yorkand the 2009 New Museum of Contemporary Art triennial Younger Than Jesus. Ms. Frazier is a featured artist in the new Art 21 online documentary series New York Close Up. She is represented by Galerie Michel Rein in Paris. Her first solo exhibition in New York City, LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital will be on view starting March 2013 at the Brooklyn Museum. Ms. Frazier was appointed critic in photography at Yale in 2012.
