Tick, Tick…Boom!

By Jonathan Larson

Johnny, a struggling composer, is turning 30. Johnny’s girlfriend Susan wants to move out of New York City. His best friend Michael has sold out, and keeps telling Johnny to come along. And Johnny…can’t decide. Before Jonathan Larson’s name became forever associated with “Rent,” he wrote “Tick, Tick…Boom!”, an autobiographical rock musical chronicling his life as an artist in early-90s New York. Filled with the same brilliant music and soulful themes that made “Rent” a worldwide sensation, “Tick, Tick…Boom!” explores early life crises, relationships, sugar cravings, creativity, waitering, and the struggle to do what you love in a world that does not always love what you do.
