Latinos have been at Yale for close to 50 years. This exhibit tells a story of their history inspired by documents left behind. While incomplete, it is worth telling. Most archives found at the Latino Cultural Center and Yale’s libraries are from the 1970s and reveal clear patterns which hint at the central themes driving the community. Those themes – securing a Cultural Center, recruiting more Latinos, demanding representation, and student group activism – are explored in this exhibit.
